Trapped while working with a tractor: East Styrian dead
There was a tragic accident at work on Thursday afternoon in Mortantsch in eastern Styria: a 51-year-old man was trapped between his tractor and a tipper body. He died despite a resuscitation attempt lasting almost an hour.
A 51-year-old man from eastern Styria was working alone with a tractor on his farm in Mortantsch (Weiz district) on Thursday afternoon.
This resulted in a terrible accident. The exact course of events is not clear, but according to the police, the man was probably trapped between the tractor and the attached tipping skip and suffered life-threatening injuries.
Police arrived first
Relatives found the man and began resuscitation. A police patrol that arrived shortly afterwards provided assistance and used a defibrillator. However, the rescue team and emergency doctor that followed were also unable to help the man and, after further resuscitation attempts, could only determine that he had died.
