A young farmer from Rangersdorf has dedicated himself to supplying schools, thereby strengthening regionality. 

Primary school children can often hardly wait for the morning break. This is when they usually get their first delicious snack. We are talking about school milk, which has been produced and delivered by farmers in various flavors for decades.

Seven Carinthian farmers supply school milk
Six Carinthian farmers have dedicated themselves to the subject and now supply 250 schools and kindergartens. 12,000 children take advantage of the regional offer.

Young farmer dares to enter the business
Now David Kerschbaumer from Mar Bauer is also venturing into the school milk business. "David is the first to specialize in school milk in Carinthia in more than 20 years," confirms the responsible spokesperson Markus Kollmann, who supplies educational institutions in Lavanttal with his popular milk drinks.

The 24-year-old Kerschbaumer started with four schools this year. "I serve VS Mörtschach, Stall, Döllach and Rangersdorf," says David. His farm has a small structure. "With up to 15 dairy cows, we are one of the smaller farms in Austria and one of the medium-sized farms in Mölltal," says the Rangersdorf native, whose dairy products can also be found in retail outlets.

School milk was his next goal, which he can now tick off. "The vanilla and cocoa milk or yogurt are filled in reusable jars and have hardly traveled any kilometers during delivery because the schools are all located near my farm," David thinks in an environmentally conscious way.
