Police found stolen goods, but who owns the cat?

On Monday afternoon, the Vienna police became aware of an empty apartment in Ottakring. A fence (29) had taken up residence there and stashed several stolen items, weapons and drugs. In addition, a completely terrified cat was discovered without an owner.

According to the police, three e-scooters, two bicycles, around 20 cell phones, two laptops and cash amounting to 14,680 euros were seized.

The police found out about the crime after the owner of the apartment could no longer open the door and called a locksmith for help. When the door was broken open, the 29-year-old was suddenly inside.

Several weapons discovered
Because there was also a strong smell of cannabis, a police dog was deployed, which then found the narcotic drug and various tablets. A blank firearm, a stabbing weapon and a forged Italian identity card were also found. The suspect was arrested.

Cat without an owner
There was also an unchipped cat in the apartment that could not be assigned to an owner. It was handed over to the animal rescue service of the City of Vienna. During the initial meticulous investigations, the police were able to match some of the items to previous crimes such as burglaries.
