A father (36) and his son (6) wanted to go skateboarding on Sunday morning, but then there was an accident and the boy had to be flown to hospital in Lienz (Carinthia).

At around 10.30 am on Sunday, a six-year-old boy was riding his skateboard in the presence of his 36-year-old father, both from Styria, on a private, slightly sloping driveway between a residential building and a garage in the district of Spittal.

Six-year-old falls
At the same time, a 76-year-old man from the district of Spittal steered his car around the house. The six-year-old fell and, despite the 76-year-old braking immediately, his forearm came under the left front tire of the car.

Alcohol test negative
After initial treatment by the people present and by the emergency doctor who was called, the boy was flown to Lienz Hospital with injuries. According to the Oberdrauburg police, a breathalyzer test carried out on the driver was negative.
