Pensioner drove his car into a flooded area

On Wednesday morning, a 72-year-old man in Hard "lost his way" with his car in an area that is currently flooded. He got stuck and had to be rescued by the fire department.

It wasn't particularly clever: the 72-year-old first ignored a flood barrier and then drove on until the engine was stalled by the incoming water. As the water was already pouring into the car, he was no longer able to free himself from the car.

Fortunately for him, the incident was observed by witnesses. The emergency services from the fire department and water rescue finally freed the man from his predicament and the car was towed away using a winch.
