Mistook the accelerator for the brake and crashed into a tree

According to his own statements, a 60-year-old car driver mistook the accelerator pedal for the brake pedal - and crashed into a tree in St. Stefan-Afiesl fontal on Sunday morning. The ambulance took the injured man to Rohrbach Hospital.

The 60-year-old from the Wels-Land district was driving on the L1544 from St. Stefan towards Hashalch at around 9.30 a.m. on Sunday. In St. Stefan-Afiesl, the driver then had a serious accident.

Head-on collision with a tree
According to his own statements, the 60-year-old mistakenly switched from the brake to the accelerator pedal. As a result, his car left the road to the right and crashed head-on into a tree after around 50 meters.

After first aid, the ambulance took him to Rohrbach Hospital with injuries.
