Italian whistles Austria dress rehearsal!

The Austrian national soccer team's dress rehearsal for the European Championship in Germany will be refereed by Italian Maria Sole Ferrieri Caputi!

The 33-year-old from Livorno will referee the ÖFB team's test match against Switzerland in St. Gallen on Saturday (6 p.m.). Ferrieri Caputi became the first female referee in the Italian Serie A in 2022. She has also been a FIFA referee since the previous year.

This is not the first time that a woman has refereed an ÖFB men's international match. This was already the case in March 2021 in the World Cup qualifier in Vienna against the Faroe Islands (3:1) with Katerina Monsul from Ukraine.
