Toddler fell out of window – injured in the head

A one-and-a-half-year-old boy fell out of a window of a first-floor apartment in Vienna's Ottakring district on Wednesday evening. The toddler sustained serious head injuries.

The little boy probably climbed over the dining table onto the window sill of the open kitchen window in an unobserved moment at around 7.45 pm.

A witness observed the toddler leaning on a flower pot and then losing his balance. The boy then fell out of the window.

After first aid, the child was taken to the shock room of a hospital. The parents were charged with suspected negligent bodily harm.
