40 years without a license: “I’m a loyal police customer”

On Tuesday, the police stopped a 69-year-old driver from Wels who has apparently been driving without a valid license for four decades. During the check, the man stated that he had been a loyal and well-behaved customer of the police for 40 years and had always paid his fines.

The 69-year-old man from Wels was driving his car in Wels late on Tuesday morning when he was stopped by a police patrol. They discovered that the driver did not have a driver's license.

The 69-year-old immediately apologized: the journey had been necessary because he absolutely had to deliver drinks.

Then the traffic stop became even more bizarre: According to the police, the man from Wels stated that he had been a loyal and well-behaved customer of the police for 40 years because he had always paid his fines.

The driver was - once again - reported to the police. He was of course banned from continuing to drive.
