Braunöder achieved promotion to Serie A with Como!

Matthias Braunöder has achieved promotion to Serie A with Italian second-division soccer club Como 1907! 

The player on loan from Vienna's Austria finished the season with Como in second place in the Serie B table and helped the club from northern Italy return to the top flight after 21 years. On Friday, Como drew 1-1 with Cosenza in the final round as third-placed Venezia FC conceded a 2-1 defeat at Spezia Calcio.

Braunöder earned himself a regular place in central midfield at Como after a difficult start. Of the last nine games with the U21 team captain in the starting eleven, Como have won six and drawn three. Como has an option to buy the 22-year-old, who moved abroad from the "Veilchen" for the first time in the winter. Also promoted ahead of schedule are leaders Parma Calcio.
