Supposed car from Norway never arrived

A man from Salzburg saw a tempting car offer on the Internet. In good faith, he transferred a four-figure sum. But the real deal never materialized.

Unknown perpetrators advertised a car on the Internet via a sales platform. As soon as the payment had been made, the vehicle would be sent to him by courier from Norway, they promised an interested Salzburg resident.

Victim transferred money to an account abroad
The 30-year-old was persuaded to transfer a four-figure sum to a Dutch account. From this moment on, however, all contact with the seller broke off and the vehicle was not delivered to the young man from Salzburg as agreed.

The fraud was probably carried out using fake e-mail accounts and fake websites. The police are investigating.
