Semlic quits
St. Pölten: Coach and sporting director also leave
At second-division club SKN St. Pölten, the tendencies towards dissolution are becoming ever clearer in the final phase of the season. After sporting director Jan Schlaudraff recently made his departure at the end of the season public, the club announced two further changes on Friday evening: Sporting director Tino Wawra and coach Philipp Semlic are also leaving the "Wolves".
Semlic informed the club of his immediate departure. He had informed the club that he would not be fulfilling his contract, which runs until the end of May 2025, at his own request, according to the announcement following the 0-0 draw at DSV Leoben on Friday evening. Who will prepare the team for the final four games from Tuesday will be announced by Monday at the latest.
"I'm not going any further"
"Four months ago, Jan Schlaudraff and Tino Wawra convinced me of the project in St. Pölten. Due to the recent changes at the sporting decision-making level, I have decided not to continue on this new path," the Styrian was quoted as saying.
