Villach: 18-year-old hit by a car on a pedestrian crossing

An 18-year-old was hit by a car while crossing a pedestrian crossing in Villach. 

A 68-year-old female driver was driving her car in the direction of Ossiacher Zeile in Villach on Tuesday. Suddenly she heard the horn of an emergency vehicle. She wanted to avoid it, but overlooked a pedestrian who was crossing a crosswalk. 

The woman was unable to steer to the side in time and hit the man from Villach. The pedestrian was thrown onto the road by the force of the impact and lay injured on the ground. He was immediately taken to hospital.
