Alerted by mother
Drunk man attacked girlfriend and police officers
The mother of a 35-year-old man from the district of Spittal an der Drau called the police on Friday evening because he had gone on the rampage and acted aggressively towards his girlfriend. But instead of calming down, the drunk man even attacked an officer.
At around 8.30 p.m. on Friday, the police received an emergency call from a distraught mother that her son was on the rampage at home in Spittal and behaving very aggressively towards his girlfriend.
When the police patrols arrived at the scene, the 35-year-old, who was already known to the police, was found in front of the house. While the officers tried to calm the obviously very drunk man down, he began to swear at them loudly and repeatedly approached them in an aggressive manner.
"The man became increasingly aggressive and even tried to attack his girlfriend. When a police officer intervened, he violently pushed him away," said an officer. The 35-year-old was then provisionally arrested and taken to the detention room at Obervellach police station.
Too drunk for questioning
"He refused to take a breathalyzer test. Due to the obvious heavy intoxication, he was not questioned for the time being, but was to be questioned later on Saturday morning," said a police officer.
