Two VWs hurled into articulated lorry after crash
A 35-year-old man collided with oncoming traffic on Wednesday evening because he wanted to overtake an articulated lorry. The two cars involved in the collision, two VWs, were thrown against the truck as a result - both drivers had to be taken to hospital after receiving emergency medical treatment.
A 35-year-old Kosovar from the district of Eferding was driving on Wallerner Straße in the direction of Eferding on Wednesday evening. A 56-year-old man from the district of Grieskirchen was driving in the opposite lane. At the start of a left-hand bend, the younger man decided to overtake the articulated truck in front of him - and that's when it happened.
Two injured
According to the police, the 35-year-old crashed head-on into the oncoming car of the 56-year-old. The two VWs were thrown against the left rear side of the truck as a result of the collision and then came to a standstill completely demolished.
After first aid by the emergency doctor, both drivers had to be taken to hospital by ambulance.
Wallerner Straße was closed for around one and a half hours due to the accident.
