Juve must pay Ronaldo almost ten million euros in arrears
Cristiano Ronaldo has won a lawsuit against his former club Juventus Turin over a salary issue during the coronavirus pandemic. Italy's record champions must pay the Portuguese almost ten million euros, a court of arbitration ruled on Wednesday.

The pandemic meant high financial losses for numerous clubs worldwide. Many professional footballers forfeited their salary or parts of it. In Ronaldo's case, payments were also postponed. However, the Portuguese player later went to court and demanded almost 20 million euros. The arbitration tribunal now ruled against Juve. The Turin club insisted that Ronaldo had voluntarily waived his rights at the time, but were apparently unable to convince the court.
