Drunk driver demolishes car wash with van
On Saturday night, a drunk Bulgarian caused serious damage with his van at a petrol station in Feldkirchen, Carinthia.
The 23-year-old Bulgarian national simply drove his van through the car wash at around 10.15 p.m., severely damaged it and then drove off again. The 30-year-old petrol station tenant alerted the police and was able to produce a video recording clearly showing the van with an advertising slogan.
Driver quickly identified
The hit-and-run driver was identified within half an hour thanks to a young female detective who had already seen the van several days ago in the Feldkirchen district.
Bulgarian heavily intoxicated
The Bulgarian has no main residence in Carinthia and the vehicle has a Bulgarian registration. The 23-year-old admitted to driving the van. A breathalyzer test carried out on the spot showed that he was heavily intoxicated. His driver's license was confiscated on the spot. The man will be charged several times.
