Wild NHL scenes
Desert mass brawl after just two seconds
In the North American ice hockey league NHL, a wild mass brawl broke out after just two seconds during the New York Rangers' 4:3 victory over the New Jersey Devils on Wednesday (local time).
With the exception of the two goalkeepers, all ten players got into duels. Four players from each team received consecutive disciplinary penalties and the game was over for them.
The rough start was sparked by Rangers forward Matt Rempe and New Jersey's Kurtis MacDermid, whose fight at center ice lasted the longest.
Unfinished business
Both still had a score to settle from the game on March 11. When the teams met just under a month ago, Rempe did not accept MacDermid's offer of a fight. Later in the game, he hit Devils defenseman Jonas Siegenthaler so hard with an elbow that he had to leave the game early.
