Driver injured
Road sweeper skids car into store in accident
Ten tons of fighting weight - that was the weight of a road sweeper with orange warning lights in Spittal (Carinthia) on Monday. When it drove into a square, an accident occurred.
Neither driver was particularly attentive. "When the sweeper turned right into the square with its flashing lights on, an 83-year-old woman was driving north there. The truck crashed head-on into the right-hand side of the car," the police report. "Due to the force of the impact, the 83-year-old woman's car was thrown head-on into a store in an arcade area."
Amount of damage still unclear
Sculptures and decorative objects were stored there, which were severely damaged - the amount of damage has not yet been determined. "The 83-year-old woman was taken to Spittal Hospital for outpatient treatment. The driver of the sweeper was uninjured," said the police. However, both vehicles involved in the accident were considerably damaged.
