Two people were seriously injured in an accident on the Lammertal road in the Scheffau district of Griesau on Sunday afternoon. The driver of a car lost control of his vehicle for unknown reasons and crashed head-on into a tree.

The car was totaled as a result of the collision. The driver and another occupant had to be rescued from the wreck by the Scheffau fire department.

The two seriously injured people were taken to the accident hospital and the regional hospital in the city of Salzburg.

The Red Cross was deployed with one ambulance, two ambulances and two emergency helicopters.
