Haydn Private University now investigating teachers

Psychological violence? Sexual assault? Students are making serious allegations against a teacher at the Joseph Haydn Private University. It is still unclear what is behind it. Internal investigations are in full swing. The university management is having all the allegations investigated.

Discordant tones in lessons at the Joseph Haydn Private University in Eisenstadt: a music teacher who has been working at the school for some time is now facing accusations from several sides. "After the allegations came to light, the state employee was immediately placed on leave of absence in consultation with the Office of the State Government," the university management announced.

Allegations go back years
The complaints relate to the year 2021, and it is only now that students have openly criticized the teacher's behavior at the time. The university management has the descriptions of some of those affected. "With this sensitive topic, all allegations must be investigated in detail," they say.

The internal investigations are looking into whether the violations took the form of psychological violence, abuse of authority or sexual assault. The university management is working with all relevant departments to quickly clarify the facts of the case, it is emphasized.

A particularly difficult case
"As long as the internal investigations have not been completed, we request that the matter be handled sensitively for reasons of data and victim protection," says the university management: "Prejudice should be avoided."

The results of the investigations must be awaited and the protection of any victims is paramount. "There are clear boundaries in the classroom. If these have been exceeded, consequences are to be expected."
