There were several accidents on Tyrol’s slopes on Monday
In three skiing accidents in the Tyrolean districts of Kitzbühel, Schwaz and Imst on Monday, four winter sports enthusiasts were injured, some of them seriously, including a teenager. The emergency helicopter had to rescue three people.
The first skiing accident on Monday occurred at around 9.50 am in St. Jakob in Haus (Kitzbühel district). A 49-year-old local woman was skiing downhill on a ski route in the Pillersee ski area when she fell and slid around 150 meters down the ski trail. In a slight left-hand bend, she then left the path and fell around 15 meters into a ditch, where she lay seriously injured. After first aid by the piste rescue team, the helicopter flew her to hospital in St. Johann in Tirol.

Similar scenes took place around an hour later in Tux in the Zillertal. A French woman (58) overshot the edge of the piste in a bend and fell around ten meters into a wooded area. The winter sports enthusiast was injured and also had to be flown to hospital by an emergency helicopter.
Collision at a slope junction
In the late morning, there was a crash in Kühtai (Imst district). There, a 14-year-old German and a 64-year-old Swiss skier collided with each other on a slope crossing.
