Now it's finally official: second division soccer club SV Stripfing is insolvent!

As the credit protection association KSV 1870, the Alpenländische Kreditorenverband (AKV) and Creditreform announced in press releases on Monday, bankruptcy proceedings have been opened at the regional court in Korneuburg. According to the AKV, 30 creditors with total claims of 565,000 euros are currently affected.

Eligibility to play soon gone?
Stripfing is in danger of losing its eligibility to play in the 2nd division in the coming days.

The Bundesliga board filed a complaint with the Senate 5 to withdraw the license. Stripfing already failed to appear in a championship match scheduled for last Friday. Numerous players have opted out of their contracts and the club no longer has a team capable of playing.

The majority of the players have three salaries outstanding since the last payment for July. Bankruptcy proceedings opened in July against club patron Erich Kirisits had brought Stripfing into serious turbulence. According to the AKV, the sports club intends to restructure and submit a restructuring plan to its creditors. However, this is only possible with the help of sponsors and the granting of a playing license for another league.
