Prisoners break out of prison in Russia

Six prisoners have escaped from prison in the western Russian region of Lipetsk. "At the moment, all security agencies are united in the search for them; an inter-agency group is working," wrote Governor Igor Artamonov on his Telegram channel. 

He called on the population to remain calm. It was understandable that the news of a prisoner escape would cause unrest, but he asked people not to panic.

Two prisoners arrested again
According to him, there will be a lot of false reports. "The information war continues and the Ukrainian armed forces will not miss the chance to take advantage of the situation," he wrote.

He later added that two of the fugitives had been detained in the neighboring Tambov region.

Number of serious crimes increased
Russia, which has been waging a war of aggression against Ukraine for over two and a half years, is spending record sums from its budget on the military and security forces. Despite this, the number of serious crimes has increased this year, according to the investigating authorities. Recently, there have also been several cases of prisoner revolts in the country.
