37 kilograms of herbal cannabis discovered at Vienna Airport

Police at Vienna Airport in Schwechat (district of Bruck an der Leitha) have seized 37 kilograms of herbal cannabis. The drugs, with a street value of around 150,000 euros, were discovered during an inspection of transit luggage. 

The two suitcases were assigned to a 31-year-old Malaysian citizen, who confessed to the crime.

After the discovery on July 7, the man was taken to Korneuburg prison.

The narcotics were distributed in 65 plastic bags and vacuum-packed.

The bags arrived from Thailand and were to be transported onwards to Spain, according to the Lower Austria Provincial Police Directorate.
