Young girl threatened with knife – man caught!

A young girl is said to have desperately asked a 22-year-old man for help on Saturday evening in Vienna-Neubau. Why? According to the police, she was threatened with a knife by a stranger in the street. The man was caught!

At around 9 pm, the young girl is said to have approached the 22-year-old and asked for help. The stranger then allegedly attacked the young man with the knife - he then immediately called the emergency services.

"Based on a precise personal description, the unknown man was stopped by officers at a streetcar station near Museumsplatz", said police spokeswoman Julia Schick on Sunday. The suspect is a 36-year-old Iraqi. He was provisionally arrested and the knife was confiscated.
