Paris finalist Zverev has to cancel for Stuttgart

Alexander Zverev has canceled his participation in this week's grass court tournament in Stuttgart after the intense French Open. The Paris finalist would have been the top seed at the event at the start of the grass court season. 

"I've played a lot of tennis in the last few weeks and reached the final in Paris, where I played five tough sets. I feel that my body is not ready to go from clay to grass now," said the fourth-ranked player.

Repeated refusal
The German number one had already withdrawn from the Stuttgart tournament at short notice last year. Back then, he had suffered a thigh injury in the semi-finals of Roland Garros. Zverev should be back next week in Halle. The next Grand Slam event in Wimbledon starts at the beginning of July.
