Drunk man attacked acquaintance with barbecue skewer

There were wild scenes outside a petrol station in Vienna-Simmering on Sunday morning. A 34-year-old man attacked a 39-year-old man with a barbecue skewer after a heated argument.

The two men had drunk a lot of alcohol together beforehand. The situation escalated at around 8 o'clock. The 34-year-old unpacked a barbecue skewer and threatened the 39-year-old with it. An acquaintance of the victim immediately alerted the police.

The suspect was arrested a short time later by the officers. But without the barbecue skewer. When questioned, the 34-year-old stated that he had felt threatened by the victim. He was reported at large.
