Bayer Leverkusen advanced to the Europa League final on Thursday with a 2:2 draw (aggregate score: 4:2) against AS Roma. In a heated duel, Alonso's side were able to save their crazy streak of 49 consecutive games without defeat thanks to late goals. After Leandro Paredes had given Roma the lead with two penalty goals in the 43rd and 66th minutes of the match, an own goal from Roma defender Gianluca Mancini (82nd) sent the hosts into the final, while Josip Stanisic saved the German champions' unbeaten streak in the 97th minute.
