Bungalow on fire: 100 firefighters in action

Ten fire departments battled the flames of a house fire in Groß Enzersdorf in the district of Gänserndorf (Lower Austria) on Thursday afternoon. The cause of the fire is still unclear. 

At around 3 pm, ten fire departments were called to a house fire in Groß Enzersdorf. A bungalow was on fire. The firefighters started extinguishing the fire immediately. "At the same time, several firefighting teams took care of protecting the surrounding buildings", reported incident commander Engelbert Herney from the local fire brigade in a press release. Nine breathing apparatus teams were deployed to fight the fire.

Fortunately, the Florianis quickly had the fire under control. Fire departments are still on site to extinguish the last embers, it is reported. It is still unclear how the fire started.

Ten fire departments with 102 members were or are still in action. The police and the Red Cross were also alerted.
