Blabbed! Coach admits to Liverpool talks

For several weeks, Arne Slot has been linked with the coaching position at Anfield Road that will become vacant in the summer. As the Feyenoord coach himself has now revealed, talks are already underway between his current employer and the Reds. 

"I would like to become the new manager of Liverpool, my decision is clear. It's no secret that I want to go to Liverpool," Slot told ESPN, making no secret of his interest in the Reds.

And it looks like it could actually come to signing: "Liverpool and Feyenoord are in negotiations. I'm curious to see what comes of it. I am confident and am waiting for the clubs to reach an agreement."

Slot's contract with the Dutch champions runs until 2026, so a transfer fee would be due for him. Tottenham were reportedly already very interested in Slot last season, but he decided to stay with Feyenoord. He has been at the club of Austrian international Gernot Trauner since the 2021/22 season. In his first season, the Dutch side reached the Conference League final and were crowned champions a year later.

At Liverpool FC, the 45-year-old Dutchman would follow in the footsteps of Jürgen Klopp, who will leave the traditional English club at the end of the season after nine years.
