Novak Djokovic breaks Roger Federer’s record
Novak Djokovic became the oldest number one in the ATP world rankings on Monday. The Serbian snatched the record from his former permanent rival Roger Federer at the age of 36 years and 321 days.
The Swiss was one day younger when he last held the top spot in the summer of 2018. Djokovic has now been at the top for a total of 420 weeks, which is just as much of a record as winning 24 Grand Slam titles. Sebastian Ofner improved his ranking to 44th place.
The Styrian moved up three places compared to the previous week. Dominic Thiem, who failed in the first round of the Monte Carlo qualifiers, dropped six places and is now 97th. In the women's ranking, Austria's number one, Julia Grabher, dropped to 130th place, while Sinja Kraus is now only 222nd.
