An 88-year-old car driver started to overtake on Ladinder Straße in Wolfsberg at what must have been a very inopportune moment. He crashed head-on into a tractor with a slurry tanker.

"On Tuesday afternoon, a 49-year-old farmer was driving uphill on the Ladinger municipal road with his tractor and the slurry tanker attached. At the same time, a 66-year-old man was driving downhill in his truck," said the police.

An 88-year-old man was driving his car behind the truck. In order to allow the oncoming tractor to pass safely on the narrow road, the truck driver steered to the right-hand side of the road. "At this moment, the 88-year-old car driver started to overtake and collided head-on with the tractor."

The 88-year-old was injured and was taken to Wolfsberg Regional Hospital after receiving initial medical treatment. The tractor driver remained uninjured. Only the car sustained serious material damage.
