Karweina about to leave
“This is an intervention in the competition!”
On Sunday, the draw kings of all teams will clash in the battle for the championship group.Austria Klagenfurt are annoyed by the reduction in penalties for Rapid players. And Karweina's transfer is probably more than just a rumor. .
How fitting! The starting position in tomorrow's "grand final" for a place in the Bundesliga champions' group is clear: both Austria Klagenfurt and their opponents Rapid need a point - then the matter would be settled for both, both would be "up there". And it's just as well that the two draw kings of all teams are meeting!
Played "X" eight times
The "Violets" are the clear leaders in the draw rankings. They have already picked up a point nine times in the current season - nobody has managed that more often in the league. And Hütteldorf are in second place with eight draws. An "X" would then actually be on the table. .
Rapid know the math very well. So they certainly won't be playing for all they're worth - unless they're brave!
Peter Pacult
"Rapid knows the math!"
"Rapid know the math very well. So they certainly won't play for the sake of it either - unless they're brave!" said Klagenfurt head coach Peter Pacult, who also emphasized: "A match against Rapid can never be a normal game for me due to his great green and white past (he is still Rapid's last champion maker from 2008)!"
Visiting coach Robert Klauß, on the other hand, emphasized: "We're playing to win." Well, let's see. .
Hedl eligible to play
The fact that the league protest committee met on Thursday following Rapid's appeal had already caused a lot of astonishment in the Violets' camp. Especially as the penalties for the green and white derby "sinners" were only announced on Monday. This time, goalkeeper Niklas Hedl's unconditional one-match suspension was commuted to a conditional one - he is therefore eligible to play in Klagenfurt!
Which makes people shake their heads. Managing director Peer Jaekel: "I'm surprised that an appeal procedure is already taking place on Friday after a verdict pronounced on Monday - something like that is fundamentally new to me. Regardless of whether the punishment is justified or not, it is an interference in match operations! I didn't expect anything like this from the Bundesliga. I'm really surprised. But that doesn't change anything about our match preparation, we're ready!"
The fact that Sinan Karweina is a topic at Rapid is probably more than just a rumor. The injured league top scorer was first discussed in Hütteldorf back in January after Kühn's transfer to Glasgow. Especially as he would be available on a free transfer in the summer.
However, Jaekel commented: "We have made Sinan an offer. I still think our chances of him staying here are intact!"
