Tourist hit and trapped by cab

A 26-year-old female tourist from Germany was injured in an accident with a cab on Saturday evening. A 36-year-old cab driver was driving his vehicle in Hinterglemm in the direction of the Reiterkogelbahn valley station when a group of tourists approached him. The group took up the entire width of the road. The cab driver got out of his car to direct them away.

Meanwhile, the vehicle rolled backwards with the door open and hit the woman standing at the access ramp to the cable car, the police said. The vacationer was knocked to the ground by the vehicle, trapped underneath the open vehicle door and injured.

In order to rescue the woman, the car, which had previously hit and slightly damaged two other cabs, had to be lifted by the fire department. While trying to stop the vehicle, the driver injured his leg. The two injured persons were taken to hospital in Zell am See.
