Truck driver busted after 10 years without a license

The Tyrolean police caught two truck drivers on Wednesday who were driving without a license. The driver of a small truck has not had a driving license since 2014, while a second man was driving a hazardous goods transporter without a license.

The 35-year-old local man was caught by officers from Landeck police station during checks in Zams on Wednesday morning. When checking his details, the police quickly discovered that the driver of the small truck did not have a driver's license - this had already been taken from him in 2014. This was the end of the 35-year-old's journey. He will be reported to the Landeck district authority. 

Driving a hazardous goods truck without a license
In the late afternoon, a 36-year-old Bosnian in East Tyrol was also fined. Police officers checked the driver's articulated truck at the Leisach checkpoint - it was carrying dangerous goods. The 36-year-old stated that he had forgotten his driver's license at home, but this excuse did not get him very far: during the course of the investigation, the officers discovered that his driving license had been revoked in his home country. The truck driver was banned from continuing his journey and the police also collected a security deposit. He will be reported to the BH Lienz.
