Ex-chancellor condemned
Mölzer: “Kurz from bearer of hope to nail in the coffin”
In the current "TV duel" between Andreas Mölzer and Eva Glawischnig on krone.tv, one of the topics discussed was the conviction of former Chancellor Sebastian Kurz for making false statements to the parliamentary committee of inquiry. Andreas Mölzer: "It's similar to Gusenbauer and the SPÖ. Kurz went from being the ÖVP's beacon of hope to its nail in the coffin. A political comeback is now dead."
Eva Glawischnig is also harsh on the former chancellor: "He lied to parliament and is now good at inventing martyr stories. And he is also a master of snivelling." But whether a political comeback is really out of the question, she formulates more cautiously with a comparison: "In the USA, there is Donald Trump. And he has a number of lawsuits pending. And yet he still has a realistic chance of becoming the next US president." Mölzer smugly: "Trump is a big gangster, Kurz is a small-time gangster."
Another topic was the exaggerated formulations of Green Party leader Werner Kogler against FPÖ leader Herbert Kickl - keyword "poisoning". Glawischnig: "Kogler is going through a very offensive phase at the moment. The EU poll ratings for the Greens are good. And he's a real expert when it comes to pushing the wagons." Mölzer is less positive: "Giftzwerg isn't funny." Glawischnig counters: "But now I have to bring out the snivelling again. And besides, there is the blue friendship treaty with Russia. Mölzer: "Nonsense. The friendship treaty no longer exists. But I have sympathy for old white men (meaning Werner Kogler, note) who like to drink an Achterl."
