Forestry accident: 48-year-old Styrian seriously injured

On Wednesday morning, a man from Weiz (48) had an accident while working in the forest. A brittle tree hit his lower leg. The fire department was able to rescue him from the forest in Anger and he was flown to hospital.

He just wanted to get some wind-blown trees out of the forest, but the work assignment turned out to be fatal for the 48-year-old man from Weiz. In a wooded area in Anger (Weiz district), he was hit on the lower leg by a tree that snapped back and he was seriously injured.

To hospital by helicopter
At around half past nine on Thursday morning, he called his wife and the emergency services on his cell phone. The Anger fire department was able to carry him out of the forest. After first aid, the 48-year-old was flown to hospital in Weiz.
