Senior couple catch thief on train to Graz

It was supposed to be a relaxing journey home for a senior couple from Graz. In fact, the train journey from Innsbruck to Graz on Wednesday turned out to be an adventure for them. The two senior citizens caught a thief during the journey.

Not entirely unnoticed, a 66-year-old Croatian stole a 67-year-old man's wallet from his jacket on the train between Wörgl and St. Johann in Tirol. He took the cash on the spot. 

The thief tried to escape
The thief was probably a little too slow. The man from Graz noticed the theft and confronted the Croatian. The caught thief then threw the money to the victim and tried to flee from the train arriving at St. Johann in Tirol station.

The thief from Graz did not take this lying down. He and his 68-year-old wife grabbed the fleeing thief, held him by his clothes and prevented the 66-year-old Croatian from getting off the train.

Suspect confessed
The thief was arrested by the police on the train at Saalfelden station. The man confessed to his crime. He will now be charged.
