Pedestrian seriously injured after colliding with a truck

On Monday morning, a 79-year-old woman was seriously injured in Vienna-Mariahilf after colliding with a truck in the middle of a crosswalk.

The 39-year-old truck driver was just about to turn left at an intersection when the 79-year-old woman tried to cross the crosswalk at the same time.

Rescue to hospital
This resulted in a collision between the truck and the pedestrian. The pedestrian was seriously injured by the violent fall and had to be taken to hospital by ambulance.

There is no danger to the 79-year-old's life. The investigation into the exact circumstances of the accident is ongoing.
