Carinthian woman (68) beats alcoholic robber on the run

Unusual scenes took place on Monday evening in Spittal an der Drau in Carinthia: A completely drunk man (18) tried to steal an elderly lady's handbag. However, the brave 68-year-old woman did not put up with it!

At around 8.30 p.m., a heavily intoxicated 18-year-old had the idea of snatching the handbag from a 68-year-old woman from Spittal. At least he tried to. Not only was the bag hanging across the woman's body, the 68-year-old was also resisting. "The woman kicked the suspect so that he let go of her," said the police, describing the course of the robbery.

Victim led police to perpetrator
At the same moment, an acquaintance of the 18-year-old was driving along the road in his car and observed the scenes: "He shouted to the suspect to stop and get in! The two then drove off." But the young Carinthian was not to get away with his crime that easily.

The victim remembered the license plate number of the vehicle, which enabled police officers to track down the suspect and issue him with a weapons ban. He will be charged.
