Car driver (35) landed in meadow after rollover
Spectacular accident on Tuesday evening in Pians (Landeck district) in Tyrol! A car driver (35) veered off the road on the S16 Arlberg expressway and hit a concrete wall. His vehicle overturned and landed on a grass verge. The driver suffered serious injuries.
The 35-year-old Bosnian was traveling westbound in the second lane shortly before 7 pm. At the end of the Quadratscher Tunnel, he drove his vehicle over the edge of the road for an unknown reason. He skidded along the rising concrete wall.
The 35-year-old was able to get out of the badly damaged accident vehicle on his own.

A short time later, he literally drove the front of his car into the ground of the grass verge and rolled over once. The vehicle spun and came to rest facing the opposite direction of travel. "The 35-year-old was able to get out of the badly damaged accident vehicle on his own and was taken to Zams Hospital by the ambulance service with undetermined injuries for further assessment," said the police.
Road partially closed
The lane was closed for almost two hours while the accident was being investigated and the vehicle recovered. The Zams rescue service, the ASFINAG road service, the towing service and two patrols from the Imst highway police were deployed.
