Toys for the rich
Graz-based company designs a mixture of yacht and submarine
The Graz-based design company Migaloo has created a toy for the world's super-rich: A mixture of luxury yacht and submarine, with which a potential owner could also impress his guests on board with a dive to depths of up to 250 meters.
The almost 166-meter-long Migaloo M5 superyacht offers "unsurpassed privacy and safety and is aimed at anyone with a passion for exploration and looking for an extraordinary experience," according to the Styria-based company's website. According to the company, Migaloo redefines luxury and adventure for its owners and guests.
However, luxury also comes at a price. According to the "Süddeutsche Zeitung" newspaper, you would have to fork out around 1.85 billion euros for the yacht/submarine combination - depending on the desired equipment. And be patient, because it will probably be five years before the M5 is completed. The company Migaloo is currently exploring the market and conducting negotiations with several interested parties worldwide, reports the newspaper.
Range of 15,000 kilometers
The M5 could take its owners and their guests on extended tours around the world - above or under water. When submerged, the cross between a superyacht and a submarine could travel for four weeks in the depths of the world's oceans, with a range of 15,000 kilometers.
Interested parties with the appropriate "small change" can configure the M5 completely according to their wishes using a questionnaire. They are asked, for example, whether they attach great importance to design and whether they want to use the cross between a yacht and a submarine for adventures or business meetings or rather for vacations with family and friends.
According to the design studio Migaloo, almost anything can be built into the M5 - from a helicopter landing pad, terraces for fitness, whirlpools, saunas, steam baths or a massage area.
