Major fire breaks out on company premises in Wolfurt
On Monday morning, the Floriansjünger had to be deployed to Wolfurt (Vorarlberg). A company building there was on fire. Batteries are manufactured there.
A fire broke out in the Wolfurt business park at around 7.20 a.m. on Monday morning. A huge column of smoke was already billowing into the sky at this time. The fire started in an industrial hall where batteries made from lithium-ion batteries are manufactured.
Building evacuated
The cause of the fire is still unclear. The firefighters evacuated the building and extinguishing work is still ongoing. Fortunately, no one is believed to have been injured by the flames. However, the fire has ravaged the building to such an extent that parts of the property will probably have to be demolished. Seven fire departments were deployed, as well as the ambulance and emergency doctor.
