Illegal race in Vienna: speeding cars confiscated

Dangerous scenes in the night from Tuesday to Wednesday on Vienna's Gürtel: two young Serbs engaged in an illegal street race, sometimes driving almost three times (!) as fast as the speed limit. Neither of them had a driver's license, and after the police operation, neither had a car. 

Officers from the Westbahnhof police station became aware of the two speeders shortly before midnight during the night-time operation. The two drivers - two 21-year-old Serbian nationals - were speeding through the city at 137 and 142 km/h respectively.

Speeding drivers with many things in common
During the subsequent check on the Mariahilfer Gürtel, it turned out that one of the two was already an old acquaintance to the police. His probationary driver's license had only been revoked at the beginning of March for a serious speeding offence. His racing rival also did not have a valid driving license.

82 km/h and 87 km/h too fast respectively
The two also had a common reaction to the subsequent inspection of their vehicles. The young men were unreasonable and aggressive, which is why they have now been charged with aggressive behavior and causing a disturbing noise in addition to numerous traffic offenses.
