“Because Erik Ten Hag is a complete idiot”

Star presenter Piers Morgan still resents the fact that Manchester United simply let his favorite player Cristiano Ronaldo go in 2022. When asked on "talkSPORT" how this could have happened, the 59-year-old replied: "Because ten Hag is a complete idiot!"

"I'm sorry, but he is. He has been since he got there, hasn't he? He talks complete gibberish. Now he's babbling something about Harry Potter or something. Ten Hag is everything Ronaldo told me in the interview that led to him leaving United," Morgan continued.

Background: A few months before Ronaldo left, he had given Morgan a momentous interview in which he publicly settled accounts with his former coach. As a result, Ronaldo was suspended and eventually left the Red Devils altogether in November. 

Morgan is convinced that Ten Hag was the main reason why the Portuguese was not happy on his return to Old Trafford. "The biggest problem with Ten Hag is that he's like an opinionated little teacher who doesn't know how to deal with a gifted player," the Englishman grumbled.

Ronaldo is just one example of many. "So look at the players he didn't get on with at United. Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford. They're all top players. He gets on with the smaller players. He gets on with the guys he brings in from Ajax who have never been on the big world stage, but he doesn't get on with the top players," said the presenter, who is unlikely to become a fan of the Dutchman any time soon ...
