Teenagers on a burglary spree pursued by witnesses

On Sunday night, two boys aged 14 and 16 really let off steam: first they stole two bicycles at Lauterach station, then they took the train to Bludenz to break open a vending machine there. But this did not go unnoticed.

The night-time theft started at around 11.40 p.m. at Lauterach station, where the duo from the Bregenz area used bolt cutters to break two bicycle locks before boarding the train to Bludenz with the two bikes.

Once they arrived in the Alpine town, they immediately began to maltreat a vending machine near the station: They first smashed the glass pane with a crowbar, then stole various items. Last but not least, they also forced open the door to a neighboring storage room.

However, the criminal activity was observed by two witnesses. They informed the police and also pursued the youths, who had made their way to a petrol station in the meantime. There the night-time excursion came to an end and the two boys were arrested by the police. All the stolen goods and the tools of the trade were recovered. The duo was reported to the Feldkirch public prosecutor's office at large.
