Parked for eight minutes too long – 80 euro fine!

A supermarket in Zell am See demands an 80 euro fine from a Pinzgauer. The worker had parked his car in the store's parking lot - eight minutes longer than allowed ... 

"And all because of a few minutes." Andreas Aigner is angry. The man from Pinzgau bought a snack at the Spar supermarket in Zell am See and parked his car in the parking lot. Customers are allowed to park there for 60 minutes, after which there is a fine of 80 euros. That's what it says on several signs. "I realize that you can't park there forever," says Aigner.

But what makes him so angry? The worker from Niedernsill met two acquaintances and had a chat with both of them. "It just takes a bit of time, we're like real washerwomen," he smiles. Aigner parked his car in the parking lot for a total of 68 minutes - eight minutes more than allowed. Now he has received an unpleasant letter. He is being fined 80 euros. "The fact that there is no goodwill at all is a joke," the man from Pinzgau shakes his head.

He approached the supermarket staff, but was turned down with his request. Aigner: "I fell on deaf ears everywhere. I'll definitely be shopping somewhere else in future."
