Tree fell right onto the children’s bedroom window

It could have turned out much worse. In Innerschwand am Mondsee, a tree fell right onto a child's bedroom window. Directly under the window is the bed of two children - fortunately they were having dinner one floor below.

The Innerschwand fire department was called out to the Auhof area at 8.05 pm on Tuesday after a heavy thunderstorm. A tree had fallen onto the roof of a block of flats. The situation on arrival was initially critical for the emergency services. The falling tree parts had hit a roof window, and the bed of two children was located directly under the window.

Temporarily sealed
The family of six was one floor below having dinner, which was fortunately late. The Innerschwander firefighters were able to breathe a sigh of relief and realize that no one was injured.

The Mondsee fire department's cherry picker was called out to remove the tree section. After removing the tree, the damaged and open roof area was temporarily sealed with tarpaulins and wood.
