Couple attacked mother and son in Vienna

Adventurous scenes took place in the middle of the street in Vienna-Ottakring on Monday. First, a woman (46) driving a car was reportedly verbally abused and her hair pulled by a man (51) she did not know. When her son then allegedly intervened in the argument, the 51-year-old's girlfriend handed him a baseball bat. The police had to intervene. 

It was only 10.30 a.m. when the wild argument broke out in Ottakring. The 46-year-old woman was driving with her son (22) and wanted to park her car in a parking space. Suddenly, the 51-year-old stranger is said to have insulted her through her open window and pulled her by the hair. 

Girlfriend had a baseball bat with her
Her son immediately rushed to help and intervened in the confrontation. According to the Vienna police, there was a physical altercation between him and the 51-year-old. However, the stranger was not alone, but accompanied by his girlfriend (45), who is said to have suddenly handed him a baseball bat! The 22-year-old was injured, but the weapon was quickly broken in the course of the attack.

Mother alerted the police
In the meantime, the mother managed to call the emergency services - the 51-year-old and his partner fled. But they didn't get far, they were apprehended by officers nearby. "The man and his girlfriend were provisionally arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and aiding and abetting", reports police spokeswoman Julia Schick. The baseball bat was also seized.
